Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Human Resources Manager will provide oversight and day-to-day management of the Human Resources work of the School including on-boarding and off-boarding employees, adjudicating policies and procedures, administering benefits, designing and providing training, and working to resolve personnel matters.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY OBJECTIVES
Ensure the consistent implementation of all applicable personnel policies and procedures; update and maintain Employee Handbook.
Manage and coordinate all employee benefit programs including; 403(b) Retirement Plan, LTD, health and dental, life/AD&D, PFML and COBRA.
Work collaboratively with supervisors to define positions, write job descriptions, advertise and recruit, review resumes, schedule interviews and check references for staff positions; assist Dean of Faculty with faculty hiring as appropriate.
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws including, but not limited to, FMLA, PFML, ADA, Sexual Harassment, OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, and FLSA and ERISA.
Manage employee separation process for both voluntary and involuntary terminations. Conduct exit interviews and manage benefits documents for terminating employees.
Work to resolve personnel matters and employee relations issues.
Conduct new employee training, benefits education programs, mandated state trainings and other training as necessary.
File EEO-1 annually; complete surveys as needed.
Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Focus on promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of human resources
Experience in an educational or other mission-driven organization is preferred
Expertise in ADP is preferred
Excellent computer skills; expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; database management
The ability to cultivate and build superior relationships with all employees and applicants

Minimum of five years of increasingly responsible human resources experience
Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred
