Job Type: Staff Job Description: Under the KCU HR mission "To shape and nurture positive, high-value employee experiences and advance workplace excellence" the Human Resource Specialist is is key to providing support in areas such as recruiting, onboarding, benefits and HRIS/data maintenance, as well as, responding to HR related questions and other special projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Update and maintain employee information in Human Resources systems
Assist with the coordination of HR functions and programs as needed
Assist in resume and application screening process as needed
Overall maintenance of HR forms and content
Manage the HR mailbox; answer routine questions regarding personnel policies and procedures
Prepare and provide reporting as needed
Represent department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations
Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization
Assists in keeping employees informed of all changes in policies
Ability to multi task and work under deadlines
Have the capacity to interact with employees at all levels of the Universities organization
Promotes individual professional growth and development (meeting requirements for mandatory and/or continuing education and skills)
The knowledge typically obtained through a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Psychology or other related field
Minimum of one year of professional HR experience preferred
Knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures
Goal oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Keenly attentive to detail
Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
