We are searching for an Employee Relations Specialist (fixed term) who will play a key role in promoting positive relations with staff and promoting employee health and well-being. You will explain policies, processes, procedures and need for compliance to staff, evaluate and resolve work-related problems and work with management to determine appropriate action.
Fixed Term Duration: 12 months
Investigations and Reports:
Conducts investigations in response to complaints involving reported employee workplace behavior issues, which may result in progressive discipline.
Drafts investigative reports based on findings relating to workplace behavior.
Makes recommendations based on findings.
Employee Relations and Engagement
Provides guidance to employees, HR business partners, and stakeholders regarding employee relations issues and policy interpretation and application.
Works with HR business partners to address existing or potential employee relations issues.
Works with HR business partners and others on employee relations matters such as behavioral issues, disciplinary actions, policy application and enforcement.
Process Improvement and Training:
Implements employee relations programs, procedures and training activities.
Researches and recommends the development of or revision to procedures to ensure compliance and best practice implementation.
Performs other duties, as required or assigned.
You must demonstrate:
Proficiency in the application of HR policies and procedures;
Knowledge of employment regulations;

Critical thinking skills to connect the dots, identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, arrive at conclusions, and suggest productive approaches to problems; and
Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, effectively prioritize, self-manage, and tolerate ambiguity.
Bachelor's Degree in business administration, human resources, or related field
A minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience, including a minimum of one year of experience in employee or labor relations
Master's degree in in business administration, human resources, or related field.
5+ years of progressive HR experience in employee or labor relations
Experience working in a complex, matrixed organization with varied business units and decentralized processes preferred.
Licenses or certifications: SPHR or SHRM-SCP
