Develops and assists managers with maintaining accurate job descriptions
Ensures all plans and plan documents comply with applicable laws and statutes (HIPPA, ERISA and IRS guidelines).
Reconcile HDP to ensure no one is on the plan AND on medicare
Maintain electronic and help digitize paper HR files
Collaborates with Director(s) of Positive Education to collect items during offboarding, records employee exit interviews if necessary
Maintains Offboarding checklist
Other HR Functions
Acts as a note taker and record keeper for employee-related issues, complaints, evaluations, discipline, and termination issues
Works with Co-Director of Positive Education on rubric for mentor stipends
Works with Payroll Clerk on monthly payroll reconciliation
Monthly benefit bill reconciliations (health insurance, TIAA, Unum, unemployment, etc..)
Ensure all colleagues meet the requirements for Safe Schools/Vector training (CPR, Concussion, Child Abuse)
Assists in the development of the insurance and salary budget on an annual basis with the Director of Finance and CFO
Assists in the research and maintenance of employee compensation scales.
Assist the Director of Finance and CFO in administrative support duties as assigned (including possible receptionist duties)
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years of increasingly responsible human resources and/or benefits experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including spreadsheets and tracking systems
Preferably holds a Professional Human Resources Certification (PHR) and/ or SHRM-CP
Basic scientific understanding of key indicators of human performance and well-being.
Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels in the organization.
Working knowledge of human resource principles, procedures, and practices.
Ability to effectively deal with multiple priorities, functions, and activities.
Working knowledge and skill of basic business software, / HR and Payroll systems
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Occasionally lifts up to 20 pounds.
Generally, works in standard office conditions and climate
May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
