New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, located in the heart of Greenwich Village and deeply connected with the City for which it is named, is one of the nation’s premier management education schools and research centers. We now have available an exciting opportunity to join our collaborative team of professionals as a Senior Human Resources Generalist.
The Senior HR Generalist will assist with management and delivery of HR services for the school and manage or assist with recruitment and appointment processes for non-exempt and exempt positions. The selected candidate will advise supervisors and employees on employee matters and interpret federal and state employment laws, University human resources policies and terms of collective bargaining agreements; they will also coordinate with University offices for additional assistance as needed. The Senior HR Generalist will collaborate on a variety of activities, including but not limited to compensation matters, onboarding and off-boarding processes, the Annual Merit Increase and performance evaluation processes, data analysis and reporting, Community Building, recognition programs, and school-wide training events. The selected candidate will also oversee processing of human resources actions.
The selected candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of human resource experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Intermediate knowledge of compensation and/or recruitment is required. Excellent organizational, analytical, interviewing, problem solving, discretion, multi-tasking, and strong communication skills are required. Broad knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, legislation, and procedures along with IDBE experience is also required. Ability to interpret and effectively communicate policies and procedures and resolve problems in a fast-paced environment, to interact effectively with applicants and employees at all levels, and to support sound decision making are essential. Proficiency using Workday, iCims and Excel and are highly desirable, as is the incumbent’s ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
