Responsible for supervision, strategic planning, administration, and budget of the compensation/performance management, benefits, personnel relations (labor, employee activities, corrective action) functions. Also directly involved in coordinating legal matters related to these functions.
Essential Jobs Tasks:
Provides direction and planning for the compensation and performance management functions responsible for developing, implementing, and administering current, new, and revised non-exempt and exempt compensation and performance management programs, policies and procedures in order to be responsive to the company’s goals and philosophy.
Provides direction and planning for benefits function which includes rate analyses, plan development, plan administration, benefit deduction / payroll balancing; administration of employee benefit policies and programs such as disability and retirement counseling and application process; compliance with federal and state benefit laws; and development and/or modification of existing procedures/plans to assure maximum coverage at least possible cost to company and employee.
Directs personnel relations function which includes administration and compliance with federal and state labor laws; responding to SHAC, EEOC and/or OFCCP charges; identification, development, implementation, modification, and administration of Corporate policies and procedures such as Dispute Resolution, Americans with Disability Act (requests for accommodation), Corrective Action, Attendance & Leave, Harassment, and Termination to control potential risks; coordination of special projects such as revision and distribution of employee handbook, employee opinion surveys, required state and federal labor law postings; and employee programs such as scholarship program, service recognition, etc.
Prepares and monitors budget for various Employee Relations functions and reconciles variances monthly.
Assists Budgeting group with position/salary information, projected range movement, average increase, special adjustments, average leave used, employer health insurance cost projections.
Assists Director of Human Resources, department management, and/or others in special projects as requested.
Bachelors degree in business, finance, economics, human resources, or related field and ten years experience in personnel law, employment, compensation, benefits, and human relations required.
PHR/SPHR and MBA preferred.
Additional experience will be considered in lieu of MBA.
Must have excellent communication, strategic planning, analysis, and organizational skills; detail oriented; ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality; and knowledge of personnel principles and laws required.
