HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) ASSISTANT , Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) , o support a broad range of human resources services for CSAIL, MIT's largest lab comprised of 1000 faculty, staff, postdocs, and students. Will be responsible for assisting with graduate, undergraduate, and visiting student appointments and orientation programs; supporting CSAIL HR team members in a wide variety of areas, including, recruiting, on-boarding, recordkeeping, training, and maintaining the HRIS; providing administrative support for the team, including developing correspondence, coordinating meeting logistics, preparing reports, creating and maintaining employee files, scheduling interviews, conducting mailings, and fielding all general HR inquiries; and working closely with the HR team on department projects and initiatives.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; three years' administrative or related office experience, preferably in HR; sound judgment and discretion with highly sensitive and confidential information and when following and applying appropriate HR laws/regulations/policies; excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, customer service, and verbal and written communication skills; self-motivation; strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and the internet; and knowledge of or ability to learn HR management systems. Must be able to prioritize and follow through on competing work assignments, meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality, collaborate in a team-based environment, serve as a "go-to" HR resource, adapt to changing work conditions and assignments, and work independently. PREFERRED : bachelor's degree, preferably in business or HR management; working knowledge of and experience with HRIS and applicant tracking and performance management software; experience in a higher educational setting; and ability to analyze and improve/create processes/procedures.
