The Business Services Division within the Office of Information Technology oversees human resources and personnel management, facilities and space management, low and high value purchases, and provides administrative support to more than 420+ staff and students in support of UCI's mission.
Under general supervision of the Assistant Director, Business Services and Director of OIT Human Resources, the Human Resources Analyst applies professional human resources, organization policies and procedures to provide guidance to supervisors and managers to resolve a variety of human resources issues of moderate scope and complexity.
Three (3) to five (5) years with BA/BS or one (1) to three (3) years with MA/MS OR a combination of education and experience.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; demonstrates organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
Has working knowledge of other areas of HR. Basic knowledge of human resources policies and programs, and how they affect other organizational policies and procedures.
Knowledge of a human resources management system (HRMS), and / or other related business software programs and systems.
Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing and in integrating information in the completion of assignments.
Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; attention to detail.
Proven ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.
Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively.
Manages sensitive and confidential information and effectively and collaboratively interacts with client groups. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrates problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
