Working collaboratively with the Supervisor of Leaves of Absence. Communicates with employees regarding their needs for leave and or medical accommodations. Ensures employees are aware of their responsibilities and any documentation and notices required to qualify for a leave. Handles the FMLA/CFRA leave administration process from the initial notice of the need for a leave to the return to work.Â This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA qualifying, requesting medical certifications as needed, including intermittent leaves.Â Initiates a leave in the HR/Payroll system. Maintains communication with employees on leave to ensure a smooth and timely return to work.Â Relays communication between the employee and their leader(s). Works closely with Employee Labor and Relations Team to initiate investigation or obtain investigation results. Works closely with TA Team to initiate possible job placement for individual staff as s/he may need reasonable accommodation(s). Manages the return to work process for employees returning from extended FMLA/CFRA. Facilitates other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA and EEOC. Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests (Interactive Process) in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation to the best of his/her knowledge. Prepares and presents cases to LOA Supervisor to move to Medical Leave Review Board to post and replace. Maintains Leave Report.Other duties as assigned.Â
The HR LOA Coordinator will also participate in surveys to ensure compliance with the various agencies such as The Joint Commission, CDPH, CMS, etc.Â Additionally, s/he must familiarize themselves with the various collective bargaining agreements. Â Â Â Â Â

Minimum Education:HS Required. Bachelorâs Degree preferred.Â Â Â Â Minimum Experience/Knowledge:Experience in health care industry with emphasis in Leaves of Absence, preferred. Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Â Capable of communicating with all levels of employee-administrative to staff.Â Proficient in MS Office.Â Â Â Â Â Required License/Certification:Fire and Safety Certification.Â If employee does not have card upon hire one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
