The Human Resource Partner (HRP), as a member of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) Human Resources team, advises on and oversees human resources operations and professional services within the college. The HRP provides HR leadership, collaborates with CSU and CVMBS HR staff, and partners directly with CVMBS leadership to provide professional and advanced HR services. The HRP engages in complex employee relations management, oversees and delivers comprehensive CVMBS professional development/training programs for faculty/staff, and professionally guides and engages in initiatives such as talent acquisition, mentoring programs, climate/engagement initiatives and recognition platforms aligned with CVMBS identified and prioritized strategies. The position will serve as an Equal Opportunity Coordinator, overseeing and facilitating search processes for faculty and administrative professionals in the college, across all departments, academic and operational. The position is accountable for administering and supporting policies, procedures and programs that will develop and sustain an inclusive, collaborative, and high performance workforce. In partnership with CVMBS and CSU HR, Talent Management, the Office of General Counsel and the Office of Equal Opportunity, the HRP will provide HR leadership as well as expertise/guidance with required data management systems at CSU (TMS, LMS, HRIS, etc). The HRP will promote and support a collaborative team environment, informed by the CVMBS values as well as the CSU Principles of Community. The HRP will partner heavily with CVMBS department business officers to ensure alignment and understanding of the needs of the departments/units and the HR services required to meet those needs. The HRP will assist business officers in the mentoring of other HR liaisons to ensure HR acumen and competency exists at all levels needed across the college. The position is supervised by the CVMBS Director of Human Resources.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management/Administration, or closely related field.
Minimum 5 years of broad HR generalist experience that must include training/facilitation, managing employee relations issues, and recruitment/hiring (talent acquisition). Professional HR Certification may substitute for 2 of the 5 years.
Proficiency with HR technology, specifically a TMS, LMS, and HRIS.
Proficiency with data analysis, interpretation, and applied metrics to strategic initiatives.
Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.
Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Public/Business Administration, Organizational Development, or closely related field.
Experience in a medium to large size organization with a diverse employee base/groups.
Experience in a higher education environment, preferably in Human Resources, Equal Opportunity, and Training/Development.
Experience developing and delivering professional development opportunities to a large and diverse organization, implementing principles of diversity and inclusion.
Senior Professional HR Certification.
