The San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) is seeking an Associate Superintendent, Human Resources and Teacher/Administrator Development.
Under supervision of the Superintendent, the Associate Superintendent, Human Resources and Teacher/Administrator Development provides leadership and support for county office human resources operations and Teacher/Administrator Development programs. The Associate Superintendent works with a focus on encouraging a diverse workforce and strengthening the educator pipeline as well as developing professional learning, certification, and mentorship programs for teachers. The Associate Superintendent leads through innovative practices to achieve operational goals, and contributes to the cultivation of SMCOE’s growth-mindset culture.
The countywide average daily attendance is 89,500 with 23 school districts and 15 charter schools. SMCOE has a General Fund budget of approximately $114 million.

The successful candidate will have:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a master’s degree in human resources, education, or related field
Seven (7) years’ experience in a certificated administrative capacity involving significant human resources experience that includes work with certificated personnel functions, labor negotiations, and teacher/administrator professional development and credentialing
Additional Salary Information: In addition to this salary, a cell phone stipend and benefits package are offered.
