The Athletic Human Resources Operations Specialist provides human resources services and support to the Athletic Department. This position will support recruitment and retention efforts including advising and consulting with managers on the development and classification of positions, assisting in writing and editing job descriptions, implementing advertising plans and facilitating the candidate selection process. The Athletics Human Resources Operations Specialist facilitates the human resource processes in Workday and ensures policies and procedures are followed in accordance with federal and state laws and university policies. This position assists with managing Athletic payroll functions and provides support to the Human Resources Partner as needed.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
At least two years full-time experience administering human resource programs in staffing, employment, compensation, employee relations, or performance management
Applicable equivalencies may be considered.
Education with an emphasis in Human Resources
At least three years of HR experience in higher education
At least two years of experience with data management and reporting
Experience using an HCM system such as Workday
SHRM, HRCI, or other HR certification
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources
Knowledge of state and federal personnel laws, policies, and procedures
Knowledge of organizational management, payroll, benefits, and budget processes
Ability to prepare, present, and review oral and written information and documents
Ability to interpret and apply state and agency/institution policies and procedures governing personnel
Ability to research and analyze data
Ability to communicate to a diverse group
