General Summary The HR Specialist is a member of the HR Central team responsible for providing efficient and accurate core employee transactions for managers and employees. Provides expertise and support for projects related to ongoing automation efforts and process improvements, handle issues, and provides consultation related to transaction processing including answering questions from HR team members, employees, and management. Works cross-functionally with HRIS, Staffing, Benefits, Workplace Learning and Performance, Employee Relations, Payroll, Career Center, and College Offices.
Responsibilities & Duties • Processes high volume employee transactions in an accurate and timely fashion in PeopleSoft/Oracle Cloud, including new hires, pay requests, personal data change, and terminations. • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert of HR core record and end-to-end processes and related policies and procedures. • Works with Payroll, Student Employment, HR, and other areas to ensure accuracy of shared integrations and data input. Troubleshoots any paperwork irregularities and addresses them, as needed. • Responds to inquiries and works with hiring managers, budget managers, members of HR, and others to answer questions, resolve paperwork problems and reconcile processing issues. • Administers Form I-9s and other new hire paperwork, including processing, results tracking, and documentation. Meets with employees, as needed, to gather and audit appropriate work authorization documentation. • Manages the organization, scanning, and maintenance of the HR personnel records in compliance with pertinent legal requirements and record retention processes. • Audits files to ensure proper storage and report findings to HR management. • Provides expertise and support for ongoing process improvements and automation efforts.
Education & Experience • High school degree. • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
