Under general supervision of the Manager, Academic Personnel and Payroll Operations, the HR Operations Technician performs activities related to the processing of a full range of personnel related transactions for staff, faculty and student employees accurately and timely. The incumbent maintains data and data integrity in SOLAR HR databases, analyzes documents, verifies and audits information, and enters data into SOLAR HR.
Understands and applies fundamental policies and administrative guidelines, state and federal laws, educational codes, and contracts.
Works collaboratively with internal Human Resource units, Faculty Affairs and campus departments and employees. Interfaces with others to resolve questions, inconsistencies in work product, or missing data.
Receives direction from a variety of HR team members and works to resolve conflicting priorities with unit manager.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in a job-related field. Additional experience in job-related field may be substituted for required education, on a year for year basis.
Equivalent to two years of full-time experience in large volume transactional processing into an HRIS/Payroll System, preferably PeopleSoft HR. Experience in a university or public sector environment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Working knowledge of general practices, program, methods and procedures relative to entering and reconciling employee transactional data.
Working knowledge of: standard desktop and database concepts; automated HR/payroll systems; and Word, Excel or equivalent software.
Ability and specialized skills to: interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures; perform basic research and statistical analysis; analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistics.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others at all levels; establish excellent customer relations; constructive recommendations for modifications or enhancements to existing procedures, techniques, or processes; independently interpret and apply rules, regulations, procedures, precedent cased, and policies.

Classification: 1038 / Admin Analyst/Specialist
The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $3288 -$3900, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $3288 -$6347 per month.
HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.
REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
