Director of HR Services

Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources, the Director, HR Services is responsible for the oversight of several HR functional units, including employee relations, staff development, recruitment and compliance, ensuring that our human resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned with HR and organizational business objectives.
Provides leadership, alignment and structure to HR service functions to further their objective of attracting and retaining an effective and engaged workforce.
Directs and supports the efforts of HR unit leaders by setting and measuring goals and deliverables.
Maintains, interprets and applies WCM HR policies as well as federal, state and local employment laws to situations involving WCM employees. Applies prudence and proper judgment to promote fairness as well as protect WCM from employment related claims.
Maintains an employee relations function that serves as a resource for staff and helps them navigate work related concerns. Serves as an escalation point for employee relations matters.
In collaboration for HR operations, develops, implements and oversees employee performance management process. Provides effective tools and methodologies to assist managers in developing their employees to their fullest professional potential.
Provides leadership and structure to the staff development function, including leadership and compliance related training.
In collaboration with HR operations, oversees the creation and maintenance of an institution-wide career framework that identifies competency levels and supports staff growth and development. Identifies skill gaps and develops training to fill the gaps and facilitate career growth.
Liaises with outside vendors to provide executive coaching services to organizational leaders, as requested. Follows the progress of each coaching engagement and holds coach accountable for deliverables.
Partners with senior leadership to identify and implement best practices as they relate to processes, tools, systems, training and metrics to support and track the success of key HR services.
Expert level HR generalist knowledge skills and abilities, with an emphasis on employee relations, organizational development and staffing acquisition and development.
Approximately 10+ years’ experience serving in an HR leadership role, preferably in a health care, higher education or other not-for-profit setting.
Professional level oral and written communication skills that demonstrate diplomacy and collaboration.
An executive presence and professional demeanor, while remaining approachable and service oriented.
