Employee: Human Resources Intern
Reports to: Manager, Human Resources

Position Summary:

Provides administrative support to the Human Resources, Recruiting, Payroll and Accounting Departments

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
• The Human Resources Administrative Assistant carries out responsibilities in the following areas: departmental development, executive administration, benefits, organizational development, and employment.
• Helps with the implementation of policies and programs.
• Answers phone calls.
• Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files.
• Prepares new employee files and onboarding, eVerify and I-9.
• Makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical functions.
• Tracks policy acknowledgments
• Assists with processing of terminations.
• Assists or prepares correspondence.
• Assists HR Manger with various research projects and/or special projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially Excel and Microsoft Word software.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
• Knowledge of office administration procedures.
• Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
• Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
• Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Qualifications:

• Experience in an office environment at plus.
