Employee: Human Resources Intern Reports to: Manager, Human Resources
Provides administrative support to the Human Resources, Recruiting, Payroll and Accounting Departments
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
The Human Resources Administrative Assistant carries out responsibilities in the following areas: departmental development, executive administration, benefits, organizational development, and employment.
Helps with the implementation of policies and programs.
Answers phone calls.
Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files.
Prepares new employee files and onboarding, eVerify and I-9.
Makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical functions.
Tracks policy acknowledgments
Assists with processing of terminations.
Assists or prepares correspondence.
Assists HR Manger with various research projects and/or special projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially Excel and Microsoft Word software.
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
Knowledge of office administration procedures.
Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Experience in an office environment at plus.
