Reporting to the EI Executive Director, Human Resources, the Associate Human Resources Manager will primarily oversee and manage the student officer appointment and casual hiring process. Additionally the Associate Human Resource Manager will have secondary and tertiary responsibilities to assist in the management of compensation, leave management, and data reporting. The Associate Human Resources Manager will serve as a primary liaison to EI Center Directors and program managers on building interdepartmental and institutional relationships to ensure implementation, execution of student officer appointment and short term/student casuals services in accordance with EI and University policies and practices.
The Associate Human Resources Manager will serve as a primary point of contact to provide guidance and support for managers and staff on a wide array of HR matters including work study, benefits, leave management, and/or appointment process including drafting posting and advertising. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and updating the EI on-line staff directory and organization charts. The incumbent will draft correspondence to internal and external stakeholders, on behalf of the Executive Director and performs other related duties as assigned by Director.
Oversees and manages the student officer appointment and short term/student casuals hiring process including but not limited to: recruitment, hiring and onboarding of all student employees. Collaborate with the internal and external Earth Institute departments/divisions on building interdepartmental and institute relationships to ensure implementation, execution of student officer appointment and short term/student casuals services in accordance with EI and University policies and practices.
Provide guidance and assistance to department managers on general HR policies, procedures and programs including but not limited to: student appointments, benefits, leave management, and/or appointment process including posting, advertising, interview, assessment and selection process. Supports all levels of EI faculty and staff regarding all related HR issues.
Serves as primary point of contact and administrative manager for EI leave management and work-study program providing guidance to faculty and staff and ensuring compliance with university policy.
Manages special projects, generate HR reports and performs all other duties as assigned by the EI Executive Director of HR.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required and at least 2 years of related experience.
Must have strong interpersonal relationship management, oral, written and presentation communications skills.
Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
Attention to detail and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks; work well under deadlines; the ability to function independently; and to exercise discretion and judgment in sensitive and confidential matters also required.
Must have experience working with MS Office programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
