The Human Resources & Payroll Specialist is responsible for payroll, carrier billings, and all related responsibilities. This position must closely coordinate with the HR Generalist and Director of Human Resources. This position must also coordinate with the Director of Accounting and Finance for tax-related responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities listed below. The duties and responsibilities include the following, though other duties may be assigned.
Aligns internal customer service with E3 culture
Input, maintain, and process information in the payroll system; ensures accuracy of holiday pay, PTO, bonus, and commission payments as well as hourly and salaried entries
Assist with Certified Payroll for Federal Projects
Responsible for accuracy of direct deposit system
401(k) Loan processing through payroll
Accountable for job cost data accuracy of time cards
Assist with monthly commission calculations, as needed
Audit monthly carrier billings for healthcare and life insurance plans
Manage 401(k) loans
Ensures proper processing and calculation of payroll taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions and fringes.
Annual audit of w2 and 1095 forms
Year-End reconciliation of payroll taxes
Perform personnel file audits
Assist with the Benefit procurement process and Open enrollment process
Maintains Payroll records
Maintain carrier billing records
Update and manage various HR spreadsheets, including salary and benefits
Build Paylocity Reports as needed for various HR needs
Performs other duties as assigned
Key Technical Skills and Knowledge:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each qualification satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
Two years of payroll experience
Human Resources professional certification is preferred but not required
Construction or job costing experience is preferred but not required
Knowledge of percent of completion accounting is preferred but not required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include but not limited to, Outlook, Word, & PowerPoint
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Ability to manage productivity in flex time and virtual work environments
Proven filing and task organizational skills
Superb time management skills and project management skills
Must have a service orientated mindset and provide compassionate interactions and communication to internal and external contacts
Ability to clearly and concisely convey critical data points
Ability to understand and connect with others
Knowledge of Paylocity is preferred but not required
