HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) COORDINATOR , Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) , to provide HR support to an area comprised of over 1000 faculty, staff, postdocs, and students. Will support numerous facets of HR, including recruitment, onboarding, policy interpretation/guidance, personnel recordkeeping, reporting, documenting procedures, and participating in special projects; collaborate with CSAIL's HR manager and team members to identify HR needs; design and implement HR strategies and plans; ensure that all HR programs comply with local legislation and MIT policies; deliver high-quality programs/services that result in improved performance and retention; and collaborate with CSAIL's fiscal team to assure financial capacity meet PI HR needs.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in HR or related field; at least two years' direct HR experience and general knowledge of basic HR functional areas; knowledge of/experience with applicant tracking and performance management systems; facility with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the internet; sound judgment and discretion with sensitive/confidential information; strong organizational, analytical, active listening, problem-solving, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate in a team-based environment and interact effectively with people at all levels; flexibility with changing work conditions and assignments; self-motivation and ability to work independently; and attention to detail. Must be able to handle a high volume of HR transactions; stay up-to-date on and consistently apply HR policies/regulations/employment laws; act as a "go-to" HR resource for the lab; and prioritize tasks, handle and follow through on competing assignments, and meet deadlines. PREFERRED : visa processing experience; ability to analyze and improve processes/procedures; knowledge of federal/state/local employment laws; project and process management skills; and desire to develop background across multiple HR disciplines.
