This position will assist the CHM Human Resources Manager with coordinating the human resources activities for all employee groups; initiates and processes personnel transactions in EBS; coordinates the posting and hiring process for temporary and on-call employees; initiates criminal background checks and degree verifications, serves as I-9 verifier for MAU; assists with the on-boarding process for new employees; interprets and explains human resources policies and procedures to departments and/or employees and advises of potential solutions to problems and appropriate course of action; collects and complies information in order to produce reports and assists with the coordination of the university’s clinical and adjunct appointment process for no pay faculty including the annual mass update process and provides administrative support.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in human resources, a related social science field, or a field related to the operations of the department; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a human resources function or an area related to departmental operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration; one to three years of related human resources experience in an academic setting; proficiency with university human resources and payroll processes; ability to professionally articulate verbal and written communications; demonstrated organizational skills, including attention to detail, ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously; advanced skills and extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite; must be self-starter with good decision-making skills and demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters and materials.
