POSITION OVERVIEW: Med Center Health (MCH), an independent, not-for-profit, financially strong and growing 6-hospital health system that is headquartered in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and recognized as the largest healthcare provider for Southcentral Kentucky, has engaged InTrust Partners to lead a national search for a VP/Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). The CHRO will serve as the health system’s top administrative leader and subject matter expert for the full continuum of human resources and employee health operational and strategic issues. He/She will carefully and continually assess organizational culture and current HR processes, identify areas of greatest need and focus, and lead the implementation of contemporary best practices in HR that support the heath system in reaching its goals across all of its pillars of performance to include being a top employer of choice in the region. This position will report directly to the System Executive Vice President (EVP) of Med Center Health and serve as the key advisor to the health system’s senior executive team on all issues relating to human capital, HR management, and workplace culture. ABOUT MED CENTER HEALTH: Med Center Health (MCH) has been serving patients in Southcentral Kentucky for over 85 years and is now the largest, not-for-profit, teaching hospital in the region inclusive of 6 hospitals with a combined 564 licensed beds, an extensive ambulatory healthcare network, and a growing physician network of primary and specialty providers. The system currently has approximately 3,800 employees and 300+ providers in over 50 specialties. MCH is financially strong and well positioned for continued growth and regional development. The Medical Center offers the region’s most comprehensive specialized services to include the region’s only open heart program with quality scores that far surpass national averages, an accredited Chest Pain Center, and an accredited Primary Stroke Center. The Medical Center is an active participant in advancing education and ongoing training of healthcare professionals and currently offers five residency programs in General Surgery, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Psychiatry and Transitional Year and three fellowship programs in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Pulmonary Medicine. In August 2013, The Medical Center-WKU Health Sciences Complex opened offering two combined degree programs, MD/MBA and MD/MPH. EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidates must have a Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. PHR or SPHR is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR management and leadership experience across all areas of Human Resources strategic planning, business development, and program implementation is required. Candidates must demonstrate proven ability to effectively advise executive-level leaders in a health system or complex health care setting on the full spectrum of human resources and employee health services and programs.
