| Position Summary: Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Staff Associate -Recruitment. This role will serve under the leadership and supervision of the Director of Human Resources. This role will focus on the development and implementation of a number of the initiatives laid out in the Chancellor's strategic plan and UHR strategic plan. The Senior HR Staff Associate -Strategic Initiatives provides professional and administrative support for the Office of Human Resources in the following capacities:
-Conducts defined research and analysis and prepares project documents/materials for the review and approval of the Director of Human Resources. The development of these materials includes and is not limited to the gathering and analysis of data, project summaries, findings, recommendations, and presentations.
-Takes lead in preparing and coordinating of meetings, events, and related logistics.
-Serves as an Event Coordinator for all HR-related RU-N initiatives which includes and is not limited to being responsible for all planning, ensuring all aspects of the event/program are executed successfully, and facilitating post-event logistics.
-Coordinates, follows-through, and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders in addressing and resolving matters involving, and not limited to, project timelines, deliverables, and communications.
-Works closely with HR Liaisons and University Human Resources (UHR) to assist with the talent acquisition process;
-Supports HR Liaisons with preliminary review of all employment transactions;
-Provides explanations when escalating cases to UHR for approval and serving as the Liaison between the Newark campus and UHR;
-Creates and analyzes reports, converting data into information to assist with decision-making;
-Maintains relevant spreadsheets and updates departmental event/project calendar;
-Ensures alignment of recruitment process with compliance to internal policies, negotiated contractual agreements, and legal requirements;
-Managing, scheduling, maintaining the office calendar and responding to office emails timely;
-Addressing client inquires, acts as a liaison for professional staff, and cooperates with employees throughout the university;
-Performing other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate demonstrates event coordination, reporting abilities, analytical thinking, organizational skills, a thorough understanding of Human Resources and Business needs, computer proficiency, and confidentiality. Minimum Education and Experience: Requires a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Communication and/or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach. Also requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in program coordination and/or administrative function, good communication skills, and computer literacy. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Communication and/or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: Higher Education preffered. Equipment Utilized: Proficiency in MS Office, with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
