The Payroll & Benefits Specialist at BrightView administers the activities relating to the payroll, and benefits processing including developing, implementing, and monitoring (e.g., performing internal audit and control procedures to ensure that all wages and taxes are accurate), ensuring compensation is externally competitive while internally equitable, and ensuring that benefits offerings attract and retain talent. Payroll Functional Duties Include: - Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including administering regulatory requirements, e.g., garnishments, tax levies, and support orders, and other adjustments to pay as necessary.
- Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with Human Resources team to improve payroll processes.
- Assist employees and managers with timekeeping questions and issues.
- Payroll system SME, providing training for new users.
- Produce scheduled and ad-hoc reports.
Benefits Functional Duties Include: - Support and monitor Ask Here and HR Team e-mail account re: payroll and benefits.
- Administer all employee benefit programs including enrollments and terminations.
- Participate in the planning and administer annual open enrollment.
- Fulfill all governmental regulatory mandates and ensures filings are performed as required.
- Plan, conduct, and report results of audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate and that dependent information is correct for each employee.
- Works closely with Accounting for quarterly and year end audits (payroll, Workers Comp, 401(k), etc.).
- Address benefit inquiries to ensure timely and accurate resolutions.
- Process monthly billings from carriers. Review invoices for accuracy and approve for payment in a timely manner.
- Resolve discrepancies with carriers and payroll.
- Administer online COBRA enrollments/changes and respond to and manage unemployment claims and workers compensation cases.
