The incumbent will assist the Practice Plan Director with the day-to-day activities related to academic affairs, human resources and payroll for the CDNYPI faculty and administrative/support staff in the Department of Radiology.
Prepares HR transactions for new hires, promotions, transfers, leaves, lay-offs and terminations for administrative, support staff, and casual employees. Troubleshoots and follows up on routine HR related matters. Works closely with Central HR/Service Corp. on disability/ workers compensation/ unemployment claims and leave of absences (e.g., medical, FMLA, etc.) transactions.
Manages the recruitment (e.g., screening of applicants, etc.) and applicant tracking process in Talentlink for administrative and support staff positions. Manages the interviews, hiring and onboarding process for 61st Street Service Corporation. Provides orientation to new faculty and staff on departmental/site specific policies and procedures.
Reconciles the monthly and bi-weekly payroll registers. Prepare biweekly/monthly overtime analysis for Site Mangers review. Troubleshoots and follows up on routine payroll-related matters. Prepares annual cost report for CDNYPI.
Manages the annual departmental employee performance assessment review process for Service Corporation.
Handles all HR related employee concerns with Service Corp.
Manages the time reporting process for administrative and support staff in accordance with departmental and Service Corp. policies and procedures.
Manages the administrative paperwork for academic, CDNYPI Faculty appointments/ reappointments and ensures timely submission. Works closely with the Credentialing Coordinator on the CDNYPI faculty credentialing/re-credentialing process.
Serves as liaison with various central administrative offices. (e.g., HR, Payroll, OFA, etc.). Serves as resource to faculty and staff on departmental and University/Service Corp HR policies and procedures.
Provides excellent customer service to departmental and Columbia/Service Corp clients and ensure adherence with departmental, CUMC/Service Corp policies and procedures.
Assists in the development and implementation of effective office procedures to standardize operations and improve efficiency.
Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Office with academic affairs, human resources and payroll activities at the CUIMC campus, as needed.
Assists in special projects as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requires a Bachelor's degree with at least four (4) years of related experience. Master's degree preferred.
Specialized knowledge in academic appointments and/or human resources management is required.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information is required. Strong organizational, interpersonal and oral/written communications skills required. Excellent computer skills necessary in MS Word and MS Excel. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff is essential. Ability to exercise sound judgment, set priorities, meet deadlines, take initiative, and be a skilled problem solver. Must be service oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and simultaneously undertake multiple tasks. Must have the ability to work independently and efficiently, as well as part of a team.
