1. Cultivates and fosters a collaborative partnership with Deans, managers and individuals within YSD/YRT and at Yale to lead s efforts to foster an organizational culture that reflects YSD/YRT's mission and values, which include developing an anti-racist theatre practice and ongoing efforts of equity, diversity and inclusion. Provides proactive human resources guidance.2. In concert with appropriate personnel, Leads, develops and implements recruitment and staffing strategies to attract, retain, and engage an effective, committed, and diverse workforce in the areas of exempt and non-exempt staff, and faculty. Oversees, and participates in (as appropriate), hiring process for staff and faculty.3. Provides strategic support for organizational change. Analyzes the impact of the change(s), explores options and offers recommendations.4. Counsels managers on HR policies and procedures and contractual obligations, consults with Central HR Director or Provost's office as needed.5. Serves as resource to staff and faculty in University policies and other best practices in the areas of flexible and/or remote work arrangements, return to work protocols, and caregiver needs.6. Understands YSD/YRT's labor relations environment; establishes strong relationships with employees, union representatives and Labor Relations.7. In concert with appropriate personnel, creates, reviews, and updates new and existing staff and faculty position descriptions ensuring alignment with YSD/YRT values of equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism, and Yale requirements.8. In concert with Assistant Dean, implements faculty search, promotion, and leave processes, working with Provost's Office and YSD Governance Board, as appropriate. Serves as INTERFOLIO administrator.9. Ensures onboarding processes are inclusive and designed to emphasize the critical importance of welcoming and integrating new faculty and staff into YSD/YRT's culture. Serves as member of onboarding committee; in concert with Assistant Dean implements recommendations as applicable.10. In concert with appropriate personnel implements compensation proposals, hiring, reorganizations, discipline, layoffs, terminations, and leaves that are compliant with employment law while ensuring the dignity and equitable treatment of employees.11. Works with HR Compensation Planning and guides managers and staff through job evaluations and employee audit process. Guides the Deans, Chairs, and faculty through the appointment, reappointment and promotion processes. Drafts letters of offer, appointment or salary for Dean.12. Oversees performance management and performance review process ensuring training in the areas of providing ongoing feedback and conducting formal reviews. Works with Digital Technology department to update local performance management databases. Reviews recommendations for performance ratings and salary increases.13. Oversees training compliance as mandated by Yale and/or YSD/YRT.14. Partners with managers to implement HR programs and initiatives.15. Partners with School's business office concerning School's operations as Yale I-9 Center, and compliance of YSD/YRT community.16. Partners with managers and employees to identify and address faculty and staff training and development needs. Serves as administrator of the STAR grant program and staff development fund.17. Provides resources and opportunities for managers to build skills to become supervisors of the highest caliber.18. Oversees faculty and staff recognition programs.19. In concert with appropriate personnel, develops and initiates wellness programs.20. Manages, creates, and leads efforts around organizational structure including, but not limited to, organization chart; published staffing lists , and mailing and distribution lists.21.
