The HR Analyst has independent analytical and administrative responsibility in the coordination of the day-to-day operations of Danville Community College's human resources, payroll and benefits functions for faculty and staff. Responsible for analyzing HR issues and providing advice, training, and policy interpretation to faculty and staff in these areas. The Human Resources Analyst is also responsible for HR-related duties and projects in support of the Division of Human Resources. This position is responsible for administering, implementing, and/or assisting with a variety of human resources functions, including but not limited to, payroll, recruiting and hiring, benefits and compensation, FMLA/medical leave and workers' compensation, and all HRIS systems. This position serves as first point of contact for all general HR related questions and is responsible for providing a high level of customer service to the Danville Community College community.
• Bachelor's Degree in directly related field required. • Two to three years of experience in Human Resources required. • Demonstrated knowledge of human resources policies and programs, and how they affect other organizational policies and procedures. • Proven ability to evaluate, interpret, and implement policies and procedures relevant to payroll and employment. • Demonstrated experience with leave administration (FMLA, Workers' Comp, Disability, etc.) • Knowledge of a Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS), and/or other related business software programs and systems. • Strong computer skills in a PC environment using various business software programs (spreadsheets, word-processing, and databases) with a willingness and ability to update and increase skills and knowledge as needed. • Strong analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations. Demonstrated organizational skills and problem-solving skills. • Excellent written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to write concisely, persuasively, and to clearly summarize information. • Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and use discretionary practices.
