The Human Resources Specialist I is responsible for various HR functions across CHRISTUS Spohn including, but not limited to managing HR data and high volume transactional processing. The HR Specialist I will manage Associate compliance related to license/certification, competencies, and annual education/training, ensuring CHRISTUS Spohn meets all regulatory/Joint Commission standard requirements; review and investigate data issues and complete data corrections; distribution of compliance reports.The work also involves researching solutions to HR customer transactional requests; assisting with employee relations; projects as assigned; and offering support to the HR team. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to CHRISTUS Spohn Associates, patients, physicians, vendors, and the general public. As part of the HR team the incumbent is exposed to sensitive information necessitating the use of tact, diplomacy, discretion and judgement and must portray the highest caliber of professionalism and positivity, work collaboratively within the department and throughout the organization, and live the CHRISTUS Health Core Values through actions and words.
Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive HR-related information at all times.
Manage the HR Compliance process for Associate License/Certifications, Competencies, and Education/Training including:
Working and collaborating with the CHRISTUS Corporate HR Analyst I who oversees the CHRISTUS standardization for HR Compliance.
Communicating with Associates and helping them submit any required documents through MYCL.
Providing appropriate reports and e-mail reminders to Leaders regarding Associates whose compliance requirements are due or past due.
Ensuring appropriate corrective action for Associates not compliant.
Ensuring appropriate corrective actions are received, processed and filed electronically.
Working with Talent Acquisition and Corporate HR on bi-weekly report for all newly hired Associates and transfers to ensure compliance requirements are set up in the appropriate HR databases.
Assess Associate's level of understanding and increases their self-sufficiency by educating and influencing associates to utilize self-service support.
Distributes and communicates compliance reports for CHRISTUS Spohn ministry.
Provide support in maintaining electronic personnel files and various HR-related databases.
Respond to internal and external information requests regarding workforce and demographics.
Participate in development and implementation strategies and plans for HR services.
Work with other departments to generate and share information in a timely manner on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Collaborate with HR Business Partners, HR Specialists, and Directors to deliver services that ensure high level of customer impact/satisfaction and contributes to the accomplishment of department and organizational business goals and objectives.
Assist the HR Director in appropriately handling employee relations issues, to include participation in and/or leading investigations, conducting interviews, and recommending an appropriate course of action.
Ensure HR policies and practices are applied consistently and appropriately in the performance of assigned duties.
Perform all duties in a manner that protects the confidentiality of Associates, applicants, candidates, and patients and does not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless it is necessary in the performance of assigned job duties.
Associate degree or equivalent training and experience is required.
1-3 years of HR experience
General knowledge of employment laws & practices
