Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Human Resources Compliance Coordinator for University Human Resources(UHR). This position serves as the primary UHR contact for the Electronic I-9 System, and is responsible for training all users, as well as providing support for inquiries and related issues on an ongoing basis. The position also assists in supporting and training users of UHR information systems including ImageNow/WebNow, HR-Info, HCM/Payroll and the Absence Reporting System.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Serves as the primary UHR contact for the system, and is responsible for training all users, as well as providing support for inquiries and related issues on an ongoing basis.
Monitors the integrity, security and accuracy of data in the I-9 system and for generating related reporting.
Conducts the annual I-9 audit and coordinate the I-9 reverification process.
Maintains current knowledge about I-9, E-Verify and other Homeland Security employment laws, and ensures that the University employment verification processes are in compliance.
Coordinates with the RIAS and UHR Professional Development team in creating and distributing training, publicity and support materials for the electronic I-9 system as necessary.
Monitors daily transactions submitted by departments for compliance.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or an IT related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to effectively use enterprise level data systems and reporting strategies.
Experience with web-based information systems, and Microsoft Office applications including experience running reports in MS Access.
Good presentation, public speaking, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical staff.
Ability to work both independently, and in a group environment, including team leadership, with the ability to adhere to established schedules and timelines.
Ability to exhibit strong customer service orientation for all levels of university constituencies and members of the public.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in dealing with materials of a sensitive and personal nature.
Prior experience in an institution of higher education.
Prior experience with electronic I-9 verification systems and Human Resource Information Systems is desired.
