The Human Resources Manager partners with the Director, Human Resources, to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for human resources services, policies, and programs in support of the Avient Distribution business. This position guides decision making processes and positively impacts the results of the organization by recruiting, retaining, developing and rewarding the industry’s best talent in a manner that is cost-efficient and compliant. This position completes multiple and/or large projects to lead the development, enhancement, and innovation of PolyOne’s Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Manager has project management and performance management responsibilities for their group.
Works with the Director, Human Resources and respective client groups to design organization structure, business process and systems that support their strategic goals
Partners with Avient Distribution management team to create a high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce
Guides managers in areas such as benefits, compensation, training, recruiting, workforce planning, conflict management, performance management, etc.
Ensures that all policies and procedures are in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and are consistently administered
Responsible for operational human resource issues including job description development, hiring, retention, succession planning, legal compliance, termination reviews, transfers and communications
Implements short and long terms plans to ensure performance and innovation within Avient’s Human Resources department
Proactively suggests and promotes processes that have positive return on investment and deliver value to internal and external customers
Monitors key metrics (i.e. top talent development, turnover, attendance, etc.) to assist Avient Distribution with effectively managing their workforce to maximize productivity and overall effectiveness
Demonstrates solid business acumen and ability to make HR decisions that ensure a positive impact on the bottom line
Creates a motivational environment of accountability
Fosters teamwork at all levels and cross-functionally
Acts as a catalyst for change with the ability to positively influence others to make difficult decisions
Job duties require interaction and presentations with GMs and Directors -- must be able to interact with senior leaders in the company
Performs other projects as required by the business, functional unit and/or HR organization

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business, or related field Experience
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in human resources, including talent acquisition, human resources information systems, training and organizational development, employee relations, compensation, and benefits
Experience supporting a business with commercial and operations associates.
Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to develop effective internal and external business relationships
Organizational/Cross-functional Leadership - willingness to speak openly and operate with transparency, expecting the same from management (bi-directional accountability)
Influencing/Interpersonal Savvy/Collaboration – rely on consensus management and persuasion to lead associates toward common goals
Training and mentoring managers and individual contributors
Ability to multitask and strong project/time management skills
