The primary purpose of this position is to develop, manage and support business and financial transactions, reconciliation and audit related processes associated with benefit plan administration and leave of absence program management. This position will collaborate efforts in a cross-functional capacity with (including but not limited to) Payroll, Benefits Business Analysts, retirement and benefit plan vendors. This position works closely with the director and consults with core benefits consultants and leave administration to improve business operations, improve business processes and provide training assistance as needed. This position requires knowledge of core benefit plans and leave programs as well as interpretation of policies and practices within context of the Benefits and Leave Administration business units. Strong functional knowledge of human capital systems as ConnectCarolina or similar is critical to the success of the incumbent.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
This position requires the ability to manage multiple time and data-sensitive business processes in an organized and collaborative manner. The incumbent must be adept in researching, reconciling and resolving financial transactions related to benefit plan deductions, qualifying life events, administrative processes and HCM system related transactions. The incumbent must have solid foundational knowledge of benefit plans and leave of absence programs and regulations, and be able to navigate and process transactions in a human capital system. A high level of MS Office applications is necessary and critical to operations in this capacity (specifically, Outlook, Word and Excel). Sound judgement, sensitivity to protected data, ability to think and work under pressure, excellent communication skills, ability to work with limited supervision and prioritize effectively, and with a sense of urgency when warranted are essential for this position.
