The Director of Human Resources reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for oversight of employee hiring, retention, termination, personnel records, legal compliance, and compensation and benefits administration, serving over 200 faculty, staff, coaches and seasonal employees.
Essential Functions of the position include:
Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activity for new hires
Maintain employees’ personnel files
Analyze existing human resources policies, practices and programs, and suggest improvements.
Create and maintain appropriate documentation, including employee handbook, job descriptions, job postings, regulatory compliance
Administer employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Coordinate all-employee training and performance management processes
Create and maintain a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership
Required Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of human resources issues, processes and best practice
Ability to accurately interpret regulations and ensure appropriate implementation and compliance
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Empathetic demeanor, willingness to help, and cooperative approach to difficult situations
Ability to solve problems, effectively and efficiently, in a service-oriented manner
Flexibility in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated skill in using the Google suite of software, and software required for payroll and benefits management.
A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of human resource experience is preferred
