Responsible for managing all HR-related responsibilities and personnel on a professional level. This position will perform responsibilities in all of the following functional areas: Affirmative Action Programs, Benefits Administration, Compensation, Employee Relations, Employment Law, Compliance, Performance Management, Policy Implementation and updating, Recruitment/Employment, FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) Workers Compensation and Budget preparation.
-Responsible for employee relations, oversee employee issues and recommend resolutions, career development, obtaining legal counsel, immigration programs and all terminations.
-Oversee the partnership with employees and management to comply with various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations.
-Oversee the administration of various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, life insurance, 401(k), and COBRA including enrollments, changes and terminations.
-Assist with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and reports including EEO-1, affirmative action plans, organizational charts and employee compensation.
-Oversee the recruitment of exempt and non-exempt personnel, students and temporary employees.
-Manage all aspects of hiring process of exempt and nonexempt employees in coordination with KAMO management, including reference checks, interviews and new-hire orientations.
-Responsible for the maintenance of precise employment records including employee files and human resources database. Compile reports as required.
-Oversee departments in writing and revising job descriptions.
-Keep the Chief Financial Officer informed of any Human Resource (non HIPAA), Policy, or other significant issues.
-Manage all escalated employee issues and assist in resolution.
Comprehensive knowledge of employment law, HR theory, practices and legal requirements. Knowledge of all KAMO employee benefits. Knowledge of KAMO policies and procedures pertaining to Human Resource responsibilities.
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Accounting is preferred. Eight (8) years’ experience in a variety of human resources subject matter areas; or any similar combination of education and experience is preferred.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred; or the willingness and ability to obtain. Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
