Tasks/Essential Functions of the position include:
Maintain responsibility for organizational compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all human resource matters.
Communicate changes in the organization's human resource policies and procedures and ensure that proper compliance is followed.
Develop and maintain a human resource information system that meets the organization's human resource information needs.
Serve as a liason between faculty, staff, and school administrators on confidential human resource concerns.
Work directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on human resource matters.
Provide support to department managers and new employees in hiring and onboarding processes.
Provide periodic orientation and training regarding benefits, HR processes and other relevant topics.
Manage the process of bi-weekly payroll, including review of time off accruals and timesheets for accuracy.
Manage and actively participate in the school’s Child Protection Committee.
Consult with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the Director of Finance, on human resource matters.
Bachelor's degree required
Five years minimum related experience or training required
Experience working in an independent school setting preferred
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or comparable credential in the field preferred
