POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Manager LOCATION/DEPT: Pathway Forward REPORTS TO: Program Director FLSA CATEGORY: Exempt STATUS TYPE: Full-Time
The Pathway Forward program has the HR policies, procedures and systems needed to support and accomplish the mission of The Salvation Army.
A resource exists to ensure that Human Resources functions are effectively developed, implemented and evaluated.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Position descriptions are current and accurately reflect duties and required competencies.
Organizational structure meets the objectives of the program.
Job openings are posted at Pathway Forward with a copy sent to the HR Department at Divisional Headquarters.
Appropriate hiring approval is obtained.
Prepare hire and termination paperwork and forward to the HR Department at Divisional Headquarters.
Provide orientation for all new employees. Obtain required information following employee hiring procedures.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or other business related field is required. Master's Degree and PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP, SCP Certification preferred.
A minimum of 3-5 years Human Resources related experience.
Proficient in PC-based work environments, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
A commitment to uphold and promote the mission of the Salvation Army and a dedication to achieving and maintaining a diverse, competent, and motivated workforce.
A demonstrated ability to manage projects and programs in a constantly changing environment.
A decision making approach that evaluates options, resources and outcomes in light of goals and objectives.

A service orientation, anticipating and responding to the needs of employees.

A solid understanding of the interpretation of regulations and requirements.
Highly developed listening and observational skills.
A “hands-on” knowledge of how to effectively work with diversity.
Ability to create systems as needed.
