The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company’s Human Resources function mainly focusing on associate relations, benefits administration and compliance. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and works with an HR Generalist.
Provide daily coaching and guidance on high volume associate relations issues for 650+ associates in various states (CA, AZ, CO, TX, TN, GA, and FL) using in-depth knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and ADA regulations
Investigate and respond to complaints and complex, high-risk or sensitive associate relations matters, such as claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation and policy violations
Assist management team with all counseling and performance related matters
Collaborate with HR Director to ensure fair and consistent enforcement of policies and practices, creating an environment of positive associate relations
Study trends and recommend enhancements to the benefits package
Oversee administration of health, disability, life, and voluntary benefit programs including ongoing and annual enrollment, eligibility, issue resolution, escalations and vendor management
Work with HR Director and external partners on the design, development, and distribution of benefit plan documents and communications
With Director, organize, schedule and coordinate annual health fair
Participate in audit process to ensure data accuracy and plan administration compliance
Maintain service provider relationships to ensure the completion of assignments, resolution of outstanding claims and administrative issues, and the effective and efficient reporting and analysis of plan/participant data
Responsible for department process documentation and continuous evaluation and improvement of company and vendor processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Oversee administration of federal, state, local and company leave of absence policies and programs including eligibility, intake, return-to-work, and issue resolution
Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations which pertain to Human Resources and oversee compliance with EEO-1
Continually monitor and maintain company policies and procedures, and remain current on relevant legal issues relating to employment

HR experience preferably including multi-site and multi-state experience
Bachelor's degree required and master degree helpful in HR or business
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP designation preferred
Competence in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Solid knowledge of employment laws
In-depth knowledge of benefit programs
Effective consultative approach with associate relations issues
Highly collaborative approach and influencing skills
Willingness to be adaptable and flexible to support business needs
Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to all HR inquires
Professional verbal and written communication skills and presentation
Superior judgment, decision making and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to build credibility and confidence as a trusted adviser with a variety of leaders
Flexibility for light travel
