College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor position in Human Resource Development / Industrial-Organizational Psychology in the Department of Psychology beginning August 2020.
Masters degree (minimum) in Human Resource Development, Management (MBA), Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related discipline. Professional certification(s) in the field such as SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, and at least 3 years of professional HR/I-O work experience.
Faculty assigned an instructional workload of eight (8) course units per academic year. Teach a combination of graduate courses in the Human Resource Development (HRD) MS program and undergraduate psychology courses. Courses could include HRD graduate courses such as Training & Development and Introduction to Human Resources as well as undergraduate psychology courses such as Industrial/Organizational Psychology and/or electives in one’s area of expertise. Maintain active involvement in relevant professional associations (e.g., SHRM, SIOP, ATD). The successful candidate must have the ability to work with a diverse population and be sensitive to the educational needs of these students. The candidate is expected to contribute to the maintenance and development of the HRD MS program through involvement in student admissions, advising, course development, etc., as well as participation on department or university committees.
The psychology department (www.towson.edu/psychology/) has 1,200 undergraduate psychology majors and 300 graduate students in five Master’s degree programs, including human resource development, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, experimental psychology, and school psychology.
