Under the supervision of the Director of Boston University Occupational Health and in collaboration with the occupational health workers compensation nurse practitioner and other medical team members, the workers compensation nurse case manager is a practice-based registered nurse who directly supports Boston Universitys employees and key stakeholders in relationship to work-related injuries and illnesses. The position further supports functions related to the non-occupational injury and illness return to work program and general clinic activities. In collaboration with other members of the healthcare team, the nurse case manager is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and providing care coordination and management services to injured/ill employees to optimize health outcomes and return to work. Additionally, the nurse case manager works directly with the Universities third part workers compensation insurer team to analyze data to improve quality of employee outcomes and reduce costs. May provide other employee health services to general employee population as directed.

-The position requires the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
-Visual acuity to perform computer work
-Light to moderate lifting up to 25lbs is required
-Regular, predictable attendance is required, Monday through Friday 9:00am-5:00pm; including occasional expanded hours as business and patient demands dictate.
-Moderate indoor office setting temperature and noise (i.e. noise of computers, phone, and printers).
-Ability to work in a confined area; two to three-person office.
-Ability to sit at a computer station and type or dictate for an extended period of time.
-Bachelor of Science degree in nursing required
-An active license in good standing as a registered nurse in Massachusetts is required
-Minimum of 3 years clinical practice experience required
-1+ year of workers compensation and occupational health experience is required
-1+ year of case management experience required
-Additional national professional certification; CCM required and COHN(S) preferred (if not certified as COHN(S) must be willing to sit for exam when eligible
-Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
-Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
-Excellent organization and timeline adherence skills
-Strong PC and technology skills including familiarity with case management software, electronic medical records, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-Strong typing skills required.
-Ability to successfully act as member of multidisciplinary medical and management team; collaborates regularly with other team members and stakeholders to accomplish daily job duties to affect best employee outcomes.
-Capable of meeting administrative requirements, including productivity, time management with minimum supervisory oversite.
-Must be able to receive required vaccinations or present eligible documentation based on direct patient contact job requirement required immunization policy
