Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of HR, the incumbent will perform a variety of professional and administrative duties associated with the benefits, general administration and compliance within the Human Resources Department.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
HR Benefit Reporting: Working with Assistant Director to review and analyze output reports from the various benefit systems (ACA, SPS, tuition remission) to identify and resolve issues with employee eligibility. Utilizing SPS workday reports to monitor contracts, hires and employee benefit transactions;
SPS Workday Data Analysis/Review: Serve as a functional reviewer on the SPS Workday team (HR and DoIT), duties include: review of Excel spreadsheets, data and reporting in PeopleSoft query and REX; assisting with data integrity issues and problem resolution; using advanced Excel functions to provide detailed benefits data for management review. Assist with SPS training when necessary;
Consumer Compliance & Reporting: With guidance from the Assistant Director, collaborate with Office of Enrollment Management and Legal Services on the update of employee rights and responsibilities associated with Consumer Compliance and Reporting. Draft annual notifications from Associate VP & CHRO to campus community regarding compliance statistics associated with campus safety, mandated employee training, and federal/state/Board of Regents (BOR) policies associated with employee grievance and compliant procedures.
Exit Interview Process: Conducting employee exit interviews and reviewing aggregate results on a quarterly basis with Assistant Director and Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO); Sending information on transitioning from employment and online exit surveys to staff who leave employment with UMBC.
Telework Approval & Reporting: Reviewing and approving employee telework requests in DocuSign and updating the HRIS system (PeopleSoft). Run reports in PeopleSoft Query on employee Telework Statistics. Coordinate with departments on updates and/or renewals of telework agreements. Work with Assistant Director on more complex requests encompassing FMLA and other leave scenarios.
Essential Employees Reporting: Maintaining campus list of essential and business continuity staff. Includes: drafting communication for CHRO's signature outlining parameters for identifying essential and business continuity staff; providing draft templates to department/division leaders for distribution to essential and business continuity staff; and canvassing department/ division heads to identify essential and business continuity staff and update master list as required; generating final master list to heads of University Police, Facilities Management, Environmental Safety & Health, and DOIT to ensure appropriate monitoring, access and identification of essential and business continuity staff on campus.
Website Updates: Assisting with update of HR website including benefits, telework and compliance pages.
HR Event Coordination: Handle the scheduling and logistics of benefit trainings and events. Assist with marketing, posting in myUMBC, and logistic coordination for HR events, fairs, and trainings.
Assist with and partner with HR and DoIt on the automation and process for Signature Agreement, Security and Confidentiality Requirements.
Provide assistance to the HR Benefits Unit as required by Assistant Director.
Perform other related duties as required
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree.
Two years (three preferred) demonstrated related experience in reporting, analysis and/or data management preferably in HR functional areas.
Experience using advanced Excel such as pivot tables, formulas, and v-lookups
Experience in website maintenance
Experience with PeopleSoft and/or Workday highly preferred.
