Applies professional UC Academic HR concepts, organization and / or system wide policies, and procedures to provide guidance to supervisors and managers to resolve a variety of academic human resources issues of moderate scope and complexity.
Under general direction of the Academic HR Manager, the Academic Analyst will work as a key member of the Humanities Academic Human Resources Team. The position will be responsible for non-senate and graduate student instructor personnel/payroll: appointments and reappointments (synthesizing policy, contracts and reviews), J-1 visa processing, leaves of absences, payroll duties, time and attendance, provide advice and consultation on all personnel matters concerning titles under purview, and other related duties as assigned. The incumbent will be responsible for collaborating with departments and other campus units to deliver efficient and effective personnel/payroll services and ensure compliance with policy and procedures. Serves as back up to the Academic HR Manager for ladder rank personnel actions and payroll.
