ChristianaCare is looking for a detail-oriented college student, who is interested in Human Resources!
A successful candidate will perform various business-related HR activities integrating classroom knowledge with practical application to support the HR Business Partner team while growing HR knowledge and gaining significant work experience.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
Provides operational support for HR staff, i.e. updating HR databases, capturing general leave of absence information.
Assists in preparing and proofreading documents, presentations and other project-related materials.
Assists with special projects related primarily to employee relations and employee engagement as requested, i.e. collecting data and compiling human metrics reports, exit/stay interview summaries.
Assists in categorizing Waggl engagement survey results to identify trends.
Performs job shadowing activities as assigned by manager.
Provides back-up support for HR administrative staff as needed.
Attends team huddles and staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services timely.
Participates in departmental and organization-wide events.
Provides administrative support to include: typing, scanning, drafting agendas, taking and typing meeting minutes, updating team teamwork site, and any other administrative function needed.
Schedules meetings for HR management at as requested. Provides all pertinent information needed for scheduled appointments and coordinates room reservation, catering etc. as needed.
Answers telephones adhering to Telephone Etiquette Standards of Performance guidelines. Provides assistance and/or direction for callers as necessary. Greets visitors to HR and notifies HR Management of their arrival
Education and experience requirements:
Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program, in healthcare, business, or related field.
Knowledge, skill, and ability requirements:
Knowledge of general office procedures and operation of office equipment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
Ability to maintain confidential information and materials.
Ability to use tact, judgment, and diplomacy.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and verbal as you will be interacting with all levels of management and staff.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.
Ability to maintain a professional and mature approach towards responsibilities.
Ability to prioritize and complete all administrative duties and support activities accurately and efficiently.
