Works to respond to People (HR) issues and inquiries on matters such as employment law and compliance, providing conflict resolution services and communicating People programs and policies. Oversees transactions related to onboarding of new employees, status changes for existing employees and terminations of employees. Collaborates with Global Head of People to support global initiatives and ad-hoc projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees transactions related to onboarding of new employees, status changes for existing employees and terminations of employees.
Provides advice and guidance on the interpretation of People policies and procedures as they relate to individuals and the company objectives.
Prepares global reports and conducts analysis for review by People team management.
Interviews employees to gather information relating to general factors that affect worker morale, motivation and efficiency.
Responds to unemployment claim inquiries and background check adjudication requests.
Communicates company and government rules, regulations and procedures and the need for compliance to management and employees.
Advises management on federal and state employment law compliance. Collaborates with talent acquisitions team and hiring managers to ensure qualified candidates are identified in a timely manner. May also interview candidates from time to time.
Takes an active role to manage campus recruiting initiatives, new employee on-boarding, performance management, affirmative action plans, leaves of absence, employee engagement survey, etc.
Assists the Global People Lead with creating PowerPoint presentations for strategic leadership meetings.
Collaborates with global HR team to assist with global projects and project ad-hoc support as needed
Assists the compensation team on comp related activities such as supporting on the creation of analysis of data, the annual salary and bonus review process and other ad-hoc compensation projects as required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation preferred.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret various types of business documents including complex employment contracts and other legal documents.
Ability to effectively respond to inquiries or from clients, co-workers, supervisor and/or management.
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions including percentages, discounts and commissions.
Able to apply broad application of standards, practices and theories in solving problems.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills required. Knowledge of PeopleSoft.
