HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) ADMINISTRATOR , Institute for Mechanical Engineering and Science (IMES) , to provide effective management of HR activities for both IMES and the Health Sciences and Technology (HST) Program at both MIT and Harvard Medical School. HST is the academic program housed within IMES. Will counsel and advises faculty and staff on HR issues, including personnel policy interpretation and administration, performance management, compensation, recruitment, employee relations, rewards and recognition, and diversity and inclusion; coach and assist faculty and staff on issues related to employee relations and conflict resolution; work with appropriate Institute offices on the administration of personnel policy and procedures; advise managers on organizational issues; develop job descriptions and work with HR Compensation on the position grading process; provide overall coordination of all annual salary review processes with managers; provide information and counsel regarding the performance appraisal process, organize review data, and maintain relevant statistical summaries; participate in HR strategic planning for IMES; provide guidance on faculty search procedures; develop ongoing reporting and tracking processes for IMES' management including standard operating procedures and staff resource guides, including web-based resources; generate creative solutions to complex problems, which may include working with various individuals or groups in a variety of situations; and supervise and mentor IMES HR staff.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; at least four years' human resource generalist experience; excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, computer, editing, and oral and written communication skills; good judgment with confidential information/issues; high level of attention to accuracy and detail; ability to meet deadlines and resolve problems; solid listening, facilitation and mediation skills; and proficiency with MS Office.
