HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR , MIT Open Learning (OL) , to provide a range of human resources (HR) services. Will interpret and advise staff on HR issues, policies, and procedures; ensure HR activities are compliant with Institute and OL HR policies and applicable laws; lead HR activities when hiring students, short-term lecturers, MITemps, consultants, and independent contractors; support managers and supervisors with writing job descriptions; assist hiring managers with the hiring process, including writing search plans and search reports, screening candidates, participating in interviews, making recommendations on candidates, checking references, and extending salary offers; lead the onboarding process for new employees and temporary workers; manage the annual performance review process; manage and approve HR transactions such as transfers, leaves of absence, salary changes, and departures; provide career counseling for individual staff members, helping them create professional development goals and suggesting development opportunities and resources; design and administers reward and recognition events; oversee the maintenance of recordkeeping and compliance requirements for leaves, family medical leave, outside professional activities reporting, vacation tracking, sick leave/absence reporting, etc.; work with OL HR director on strategic initiatives and projects; and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : B.A; at least two years' experience in an HR generalist role; excellent judgment with sensitive/confidential information; ability to provide consultative support, build trusted relationships with staff at all levels, listen to and process issues in an unbiased manner, and make sound recommendations; excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, event planning, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated commitment to supporting an inclusive workplace that values differences; attention to detail; and proficiency with Word and Excel.
