Serving a population of over 600 employees that are located across the country, the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, Division of Human Resources is seeking an HR & Payroll Business Partner that is dependable, has a strong work ethic, and excellent customer service skills to join their team. The position will work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students that all support various programs, such as the Masters in Social Work Program, Virtual Academic Center, Nursing Program, Doctorate in Social Work Program, and PhD Program, all of which serve a population of over 3,000 students. This position will report to the Manager of Human Resources, will work closely with Senior Financial Officer, Dean and Executive Vice Dean, also with our research administration staff and other project staff that make up the Hamovitch Center for Science and Human Services. Payroll: - Payroll processing management on all Monthly and BiWeekly pay cycles, this includes setting up core sponsored pay for faculty with research/grant awards
- Processing of all Part-Time Faculty Contracts using the USCâs Faculty Salary Maintenance System (FSMS)
- Processing all On-boarding and Off-boarding, Students, Staff and Faculty, this includes Post-Docs, RA/TAâs, and other groups as assigned, using Workday and Salesforce. Works closely with the Graduate School and Provost Office on internal systems - Cafe
- Processing high volumes of bi-weekly payroll.
- Serves as a point of contact providing high-level customer service and managing a high volume of e-mail and phone calls.
- Auditing of all payroll activity for the School, this includes payroll reconciliation at the end of each pay period. This includes running labor distributions and reconciling payroll on shadow systems.
- Produce Ad-Hoc reports, utilizing Workday, Salesforce, Cognos/Business Intelligence and other internal systems
HR/Faculty Affairs: - Will support HR Manager and Executive Vice Dean in Employee Relations matters
- Responsible for processing Visa requests for on-site employees â faculty and staff, this includes working closely with the staff at FSVS
- Workerâs Compensation claims for on-site employees, this includes working closely with the staff at the Disability/Workers Compensation Office
- Position Posting and Recruitment Management for staff postings, this includes working closely with the Faculty Affairs Coordinator in collaboration of posting faculty positions and on-boarding
- Work in support of all Diversity, Equality and Inclusion efforts
- Will maintain Performance Management for staff
- Assist HR Manager with Promotion and Reclassification of staff positions
- CWSP FWS Award entry in SIS
- Student Position Posting and Recruitment
- Work closely with the Registrar and Director of Admissions on faculty assignments and student matters
- File Retention Management â Workday and Gold Files

- Bachelorâs Degree with an emphasis in accounting, human resources, or related field, or years worked in a related position.
- Â 2+ years at USC or in higher education
- Experience with USC systems, such as the Faculty Salary Maintenance System (FSMS), Workday, and Cognos/Business Intelligence.
