Marion County is currently recruiting for a Chief Human Resources Officer to provide executive leadership and management of the new Human Resources Department. This position will provide planning, direction, and oversight for human resources operations and programs. The Chief Human Resources Officer will deliver comprehensive human resources, employee benefits, wellness, and volunteer management programs and services in alignment with the strategic goals of the county. This position will develop and implement department goals, objectives, and priorities; direct the county’s collective bargaining process; and interpret and apply county policies and procedures in accordance with county expectations using an enterprise approach. The Chief Human Resources Officer will provide highly responsible and complex management analysis and support to the Board of Commissioners and the Chief Administrative Officer.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, days (some flexibility, as needed)
Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business, organizational management, labor relations or a related field; AND
Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in human resources management, including three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR
Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.
Preferences: SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR
