Metropolitan State University, Minnesota's public, urban university, and three-time recipient of the Insight Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award, most recently in 2019, is seeking to hire an assistant professor in Human Resource Management. This is a probationary position within the Management, Entrepreneurship & Human Resources Department (MEHR) located in the College of Management.

Faculty members are expected to:
Demonstrate ability to teach Resource Management courses including human resource management, diversity management, compensation management, employee benefits, employee law, and/or staffing courses effectively at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels
Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement
Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study
Contribute to student growth and development through advising and assistance and engage in service to the university and community
Demonstrate a commitment to serving a culturally diverse student body through delivering a student-centered education in a liberal arts and sciences context and will possess the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals
Deliver courses via multiple formats, times, and locations including classroom and online, daytime and/or evening, and at multiple locations throughout the Twin Cities area
Lead course and curriculum development in the position or area to which candidates are applying
Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Human Resource Management (or related field with professional HRM experience).Doctoral degree required for tenure
Minimum of one year of full-time (or equivalent) experience teaching HRM courses noted above at the university level, with a record of excellence
Record of active involvement in scholarly work
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) to communicate with a variety of persons and groups
Demonstrated ability to work in an institution with a culturally, economically, and linguistically diverse community of employees and students
Demonstrated ability to teach human resource management, compensation management, employee benefits, employee law, and/or staffing
Excellent reputation working with students and providing trusted guidance to young adults
Evidence of effective teaching
Evidence of outstanding research or scholarly accomplishment
Evidence of outstanding service
Professional experience in the position or area to which candidates are applying
Experience delivering courses in multiple formats including face-to-face, hybrid/blended, and fully online
Experience advising traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds
Willingness to teach daytime and/or evening courses in multiple locations throughout the Twin Cities area
Ability to lead course and curriculum development in the position or area to which candidates are applying
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in assessment/accreditation
Demonstrated ability to teach diversity management and/or professional experience in the area of diversity and inclusion
Experience in academic leadership positions (e.g. Program Director, Department Chair etc.)
Professional HRM certification by regional or national HRM accrediting organization
