Duties may include, but are not limited to, planning and execution of a broad range of HLS events and handling of matters related to the HLS communications strategy, new hire orientation, training and development, diversity initiatives, staff engagement, performance management, wellness programs, rewards and recognition and other school-wide initiatives.
Responsibilities will include collaborating on overall event strategies, event marketing and publicity, selecting and contracting with external vendors, travel, managing event logistics, space reservations, catering, media services, materials for participants and staffing event(s). Will manage financial and budgetary aspects of programs and events using on-line financial systems for reimbursements, corporate cards, purchasing cards, etc. Helps with office support and operations, and carries out special projects as necessary.
Maintains and updates the HR calendar and makes events-related updates to the HLS HR website including announcements and creates new content as needed. Develops and implements surveys and other outreach initiatives to HLS staff. Communicates school-wide events. Cultivates relationships with multiple constituents across the HLS community and with other Harvard University schools and organizations.
May oversee the work of temporary staff and interns.

3 years relevant experience, including prior experience organizing and executing events, maintaining a website and administering programs.
BA strongly preferred. 3+ years related administrative and events experience preferred. The successful candidate will have superior organizational skills and a proven ability to effectively handle quickly changing priorities and to adjust work flow accordingly, both as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary with a proven ability to forge strong, collaborative relationships. Strong demonstrated experience organizing and completing assignments with accuracy amid interruptions; attention to detail is imperative. Proven ability to demonstrate critical judgment and to handle complex and confidential information with discretion is essential. Strong computer skills required.
