Performs the duties necessary to administer the College's welfare benefits programs including automated processes for tracking eligibility and billing. Maintains the automated Human Resources data base, and generates reports necessary to meet administration information needs.
Administers welfare benefits programs including medical, dental, vision care, life, AD&D, disability income insurance, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, and wellness programs. Assists employees with questions and claims. Serves as liaison with third party administrators.
Responsible for the administration and tracking of FMLA. Administer College policies and procedures and maintain confidential files.
Responsible for accuracy and completeness of Human Resources data base. Ensures that new-hire information, and any changes in employee information, are entered timely and in compliance with requirements for authorization, documentation and data integrity.
Supports and benefits planning and design efforts. Participates in surveys and prepares analyses as necessary. Works with College benefits consultant and employee benefits advisory committee regarding change recommendations.
Supports benefits communication efforts. Updates communication materials including benefits summaries and HR intranet site.
Conducts weekly benefits orientation presentation for new employees. Ensures that the presentation is updated and contains accurate and current information. Participates in planning and conducting annual benefits open enrollment.
Provides assistance to employees in the new hire enrollment process. Follows-up with employees who do not respond within given time frame.
Responds to administration information needs, including regular and ad hoc reports, Board agenda material, total compensation statements, census reports, seniority lists, benefits eligibility, faculty promotion eligibility, sabbatical eligibility, accrued leave balances, etc.
Assists with State and Federal requirements for compliance with FLSA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA and HIPAA.
Bachelor's degree and three or more years of professional experience in administering employee benefits and HRIS record keeping systems.
Experience in developing reports and presentations utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
Must be detail oriented with the ability to problem solve.
Ability to develop and maintain relationships.
Thorough knowledge of employee benefit procedures and federal and state laws which impact employee benefit plans.
Exceptional knowledge and experience in the administration of FMLA, COBRA, ACA, and HIPAA.
Experience in the administration of retiree benefit plans.
Experience with Banner HR
