The Office of Sponsored Programs at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Human Resources Associate for the Research Foundation for SUNY. Expectations include serving as a human resource officer for Oneonta Research Foundation employees, handling all HR functions and needs of RF employees and state-employed faculty on summer and extra service grant salaries. This position will provide daily operational support for compensation, benefits, performance, recruitment, employee relations, and regulatory matters for RF employees and the College's Principal Investigators, while meeting the specialized needs and requirements of grant and contract sponsors.
The Sponsored Programs Office, commonly referred to as "Post-Award," administers externally funded grant and contract awards to College faculty, staff, and students by providing services for funded projects through the Research Foundation for SUNY. Duties include but not limited to:
ï¿½ developing job descriptions and titles, and compensation guidelines;
ï¿½ conducting searches and new hire orientation;
ï¿½ educating and advising employees on group health plans, voluntary benefits, and retirement plans;
ï¿½ maintaining accurate employee records using the ORACLE-based human resource information system;
ï¿½ in conjunction with outside consultants, annually derive data, develop, manage and monitor compliance of the Oneonta Research Foundation Affirmative Action Plan;
ï¿½ implementing compliance with updated federal and state policies (conflict of interest, sexual harassment, drug-free workplace);
ï¿½ conducting employment verification, reference checks, criminal background and credit checks for the various program needs;
ï¿½ administering employee leave;
ï¿½ conducting all employee relations activities;
ï¿½ serving as RF IT security contact;
ï¿½ maintaining the Sponsored Programs web-site;
ï¿½ and supporting faculty research efforts as part of Sponsored Programs administration team.
ï¿½ bachelor's degree;
ï¿½ knowledge of HRIS and applicant tracking systems;
ï¿½ working knowledge of federal and state HR laws and regulations;
ï¿½ minimum of three years' experience in the human resources field;
ï¿½ excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, web design/maintenance;
ï¿½ excellent interpersonal facilitation, written communication, and presentation skills;
ï¿½ proven ability to work with professionalism and confidentiality.
ï¿½ PHR, SPHR or SHRM certification;
ï¿½ five or more years of progressively responsible experience in business administration;
ï¿½ experience working in a large organization;
ï¿½ experience working with and serving diverse populations.
