Boynton Health at the University of Minnesota has an exciting opening for an HR Generalist 2. This position is responsible for a broad range of human resources activities in support of Boynton’s employees and management. The HR Generalist will provide support in the areas of employee relations, recruitment, the pre-hire, hire and post-hire on-boarding processes, benefits, compensation, training, and development activities. This position will provide advice and consultative services to Boynton’s leaders enabling them to make informed business decisions. Also, to promote a safe, equitable, and respectful environment in which concerns can be addressed effectively.
Work with managers on position descriptions and the appropriate classification of personnel.
Work effectively and collaboratively as a member of the HR team to advise and support the hiring process including reviewing postings, recruiting contacts, screening applicants, preparing interview questions, interviewing, etc.
Facilitate employment offers: review internal equity, salary range, applicant qualifications, etc.),background checks, candidate communication, offer letter preparation, payroll input, etc.
Manage and oversee the lifecycle of all BH civil service and bargaining unit hires.
Serve on search committees; assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring strategies.
25% - Training and Development:
Identify communication and training needs. Develop/design/deliver HR-related communications or trainings. Assist HR Director in developing and delivering just in time training to new hires.
Facilitate monthly New Employee Orientation (NEO) for Boynton Health.
Assist HR Director in conducting supervisory training and development programs.
Identify training needs with appropriate resources and solutions, including presentations.
Work collaboratively with the HR Director and U of M Training Consultant to implement a comprehensive BH employee training and development programs.
20% - Compliance / Position Management:
Administer FMLA leaves and tracking compliance.
Administer the position management process at BH including creation of new positions and deletion of vacated/inactive positions.
Monitor BH compliance and training programs and assure timely response to employee training and immunization requirements.
10% - HR Projects / Employee Engagement:
Participate in HR team projects and BH-wide initiatives around employee engagement, training and development, onboarding and off-boarding.
Assist in periodic compensation surveys and analysis of compensation market data to inform salary decisions.
10% - Payroll / HRMS / Miscellaneous:
Perform payroll and HRMS entries and conduct payroll audits.

BA/BS in Human Resources or related discipline; plus 2 years professional HR related experience or a combination of related education and professional HR work to equal 6 years.
